We've finished the mystery quilt series. Did you sew along? I'd love to hear how it went for you and see pictures on the Facebook Page. There's a link at the end of this post
|Searching for UFOs|
If you followed along, but didn't finish yet, I have great news for you....
It's UFO week at Pattern Pastiche!
About every year or so, Pattern Pastiche, the social sister site to The Quilt Pattern Magazine, sets aside a week where members are invited to work on their UFOs (UnFinished Objects).
Read more about UFOs on this post.
There is a FREE group on the site where you can track your progress and earn Brownie points. (BYOB - Bring your own Brownies)
Being part of a group of enthusiastic quilting friends who will cheer you on is very encouraging. If you've never been part of a virtual sew along, this is a great place to begin.
It's a great opportunity to finish sewing projects that you still love, and still want to complete, but for whatever reason the project has stalled and been set aside. It happens to the best of projects sometimes.
If your mystery quilt has stalled, this is an opportunity to reboot.
UFO week only happens, as it says, for one week. This year it's NOW! July 21-27, 2019.
Pattern Pastiche is FREE to join. Come be part of an awesome group of friendly quilters cheering you on while you finish projects that need your attention. Here's a link to join Pattern Pastiche for Free.
You should know... Not all the project groups on Pattern Pastiche are open to non-subscribes. But UFO week IS! Look for "Searching for UFOs".
If you want to join the group AND get a year's subscription to The Quilt Pattern Magazine, here's a link. Use the code SP. It's a discount code only for readers of the Seamless Piecing blog.
I know it sounds like I'm trying to sell you something, and I am... sort of.
I don't get anything for plugging the magazine. I'm just really grateful to have found the site early on when I began quilting. I know I'm a better quilter because of the encouragement and support I've received from the members of Pattern Pastiche.
I want that for you.
You'll thank me later.
Wanna know what I'm working on during UFO week?
I'm starting with a panel quilt for this little bundle of fun. James is turning 3 next week. I'm gifting him the James and the Giant Peach panel quilt and the movie.
This will be my first attempt at a quilt with minky fabric on the back, so it will be an adventure!
I'll have a post about quilt panels soon. I'll share my experience with minky then.
Second on my list is a clever picnic table topper I plan to submit for publication in the magazine. I won't be able to show it to you, but you can subscribe and look forward to getting the pattern in time for picnic season next summer.
Next on my UFO busting list is the Vintage Sampler by Barbara Eikmeier. It was a Block of the Month I signed up for in 2016. It's a beautiful quilt and it deserves to be out of the box and into service. I'm determined to finish the quilt top this week. I'll post a pic when I get that far.
|Plenty of UFOs to choose from.|
There are 6 other unfinished projects on my list. I'll just do them one at a time. I may not finish them all this week, but I'm giving it a valiant attempt.
I invite you join me and the 60+ other quilters in the UFO group. It'll be fun!
Until next time!
